  • How has the nursing profession adapted and evolved over more recent years?
  • What is the role of the Nursing Associate in today's society? how does this compare with roles of the past - are their similarities/ differences?

  • NMC & RCN & HEE (You could use these websites.) and Journals too.
  • The 6C'S of nursing (This needs to be included and should be on the internet or journals. The 6C's are Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.)
  • The reports which include Francis Report, Berwick Report, Keogh Report, (These reports should be on the internet)

3. Review concepts of compassion and apply these in the development of good practice when supporting the registered nurse in delivering holistuic care

In order to ensure you meet this learning outcome in your assignment please consider the following;

  • What is meant by the term 'compassion'?
  • Can you find 4 articles which discuss the concept of compassion and include them in your assignment?- What policy informs our practice?
  • Can you give any examples of events in which compassionate care has not been given? what were the consequences of this?

You could you use the 6C's alongside some articles and journals related to this.

For the 4th question, examples of the event you could look back at the reports, (Francis Report, Berwick Report, Keogh Report).

4. Discuss the moral principles and the ethical theories and tools used to assist in guiding health care decisions that are made by the registered nurse
