Address the following issues
Assess how salary expectations will affect your status in the human service field. Will you make "enough" to feel satisfied? Will you make enough to support your family, should you have one?
Assess how emotional problems could interfere with work in the human services. Is there unfinished business in your life that would make it difficult to work in many human service jobs? For example, if you were abused as a child, can you work with those who abuse?
Assess the situational issues that could interfere with career decision-making. For instance, what is the job availability of human service occupations in your area? Whereas some individuals may just want "any job" in human services, others may be looking to "settle into" a career path. What are your aspirations? What does this career path mean to you? Does it fit your sense of what you want to do in the world?
