2. Coastal environments are also continually in transition. What has been your experience of coastal regions? How have you seen them change?

Recent droughts in the Sahel Region of Africa (all of North Africa, from the Atlantic to Indian Oceans) and East Africa highlight that climate change is leading to the expansion of hot desert areas. There are, of course, tremendous human and environmental impacts associated with the expansion of the Sahara (and other hotdesert) areas. How should we respond? How can we respond?
