Art Culture and Values: An Introduction to the Visual Arts
The following tools for making drawings will be explored in this lesson: graphite, metalpoint, charcoal, conte crayon, pastel, pen and ink, ink wash, digital art, and conceptual art. All drawing media have one similarity; they all contain something known as a pigment. This is the powdered coloring material that is mixed with a substance that enables it to adhere to the drawing surface. (Getlein 151)
