The Ruling Passion Forum
Aristotle, in his Ethics, argues that there are three possible ways to live your life...and each way of life accords with a "ruling passion" in our selves. The first is the passion for pleasure, the second is the passion for honor/fame, and the third is the passion for knowledge/wisdom. Since money is a good---but one that is instrumental---it is not really (for Aristotle) a "fourth way of life". Money is used to buy "something else."
So what is your ruling passion? Are you satisfied that it will make you happy? If not...can you do something about it?
