Are you returning to old shopping habits post-pandemic

Problem

This Bloomberg article notes the rise of the online micro-seller" building their business almost entirely digital.

Economic necessity, combined with numerous turnkey options for launching an e-commerce business and a social-media-fueled American obsession with the side hustle. have created a new generation of small businesses and solo retailers who don't need a physical space, at least yet. That shift suggests cities may need to rethink how they court and support retail jobs and small businesses in the coming years

So what does that mean from a cultural standpoint? One example might be accelerating the death of the shopping mall that depends on foot traffic to survive. Consider how much of the American identity is tied up in physical shopping - stores will have to rethink everything. One example is a very large mall down the road from me that lost two major anchor stores. So now they're putting in a hotel and additional dining options.
