Are you morally obligated to intervene

Problem: Are you morally obligated to intervene if you think a friend or family member is involved in a toxic or abusive relationship?

(Things to consider:  Different characters have different reactions to Blanche and Stanley's fight.  Blanche is appalled and goes to intervene.  But, Eunice and Mitch act like it is perfectly natural.  Who is right?  Is it Blache's place to intervene?  Do Eunice and Mitch not intervene because this happens in the 1940's in Louisiana?  Is the response of the characters indicative of the culture and setting or do things like this happen now?)
