Problem 1: Select and research a case of a well-known or not so well-known white collar criminal. You may find it easier to respond to these questions in the context of thinking about the white collar criminal you have selected and researched. Be sure to share your research sources as well.
Problem 2: Are white collar crimes punished more or less severely than are "traditional" crimes? Why or Why not?
Problem 3: Describe the role that money and political power plays in the prosecution of a criminal defendant possessing one or both of these. Does a defendant's wealth, social standing, celebrity, or political power tend to lessen punishment one might face or does it operate as a handicap and lead them to face greater criminal exposure? Why? Why not?
Problem 4: Does a defendant's wealth or political connections make any difference at all in facing criminal charges?
