Are we currently living in a period of unprecedented technological development, or is today's Information/Computer Revolution comparable in scope and impact to the earlier Print and Industrial Revolutions? Is it possible to predict and direct the socioeconomic results of technological revolutions, or is our current society swept up in changes whose impact cannot be foretold, and might prove to be disastrous?
