Theoretical frameworks are essential when developing any type of research study. When approaching a quantitative research study theoretical frameworks are important for guiding the decisions of the researcher while exploring the interrelatedness of the variables being tested within the study (Creswell & Creswell, 2023). Cresswell (2023) also contends, that theories in quantitative methodology are also established when the hypothesis is tested multiple times. The theoretical framework is essential in empirical research to help with explaining the phenomenon, and instruments should be in alignment to help facilitate new discovery of outcomes, and generalizations within the study's findings (Yilmaz, 2013).

Alignment and the correct implementation of measurements will also assist with the validity and reliability of the study. Failure to obtain alignment of theory and measurement instruments can negatively impact the integrity of validity and reliability of the study. Implementing the theory of planned behavior will be essential in investigating the attitudes, beliefs, intention, and subjective norms and participants perceived behavior control (Ajzen, 2006). Additionally, by integrating cognitive dissonance theory will be helpful in investigating how people change attitudes and/or behaviors to minimize their psychological experiences from their subjective norms (Harmon-Jones & Mills, 1999). Both theories will assist in the alignment with measurements and give insight into how variables predict behavioral and psychological patterns, themes, and outcomes through statistical inferences.
