Problem: It is popular in some circles to suggest that applying Old Testament legislative principles to modern societies would produce a more just society. Generally, such arguments are rooted in the idea that God's created order was just, so, by applying principles drawn from Israel's law to modern-day governments, those governments can become more just. The line of reasoning seems logical, but is it also theological?
