Apply the four statements of subjective feelings about a social exchange relationship to the relationship between yourself and the organisation you work for. If you have no direct experience of paid employment, complete the exercise for the relationship between you and your college or university.
1. What rewards do you expect to obtain from the relationship, i.e. how do you expect to be treated?
2. What costs do you expect to incur to obtain these rewards, i.e. how do you expect to treat the organisation?
