Answer each question with 300 word minimum

Question 1. Are morals simply a society's way of defining right and wrong conduct? Explain. How can police organizations ensure their current, as well as potential, employees possess the proper level of good morals and values?

Question 2. Do you believe that the public has little regard for laws concerning gambling and prostitution — especially since gambling, in one form or another, is legal in every state, and prostitution is legal in Nevada? What positive, or negative, effects on society can you identify? Is this hypocritical on the part of the government? Explain how it is, or is not, hypocritical.

Question 3. Many countries do not conduct a trial when addressing legal issues; as such, the American legal system is unique in this respect. Please discuss your thoughts on the role of the trial jury and whether this is a positive or negative aspect of our system of justice.

Question 4. Examine the three amendments to the U.S. Constitution that specifically deal with a defendant’s rights: the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments. Special focus will center on the purpose of the right to remain silent, a provision of the Fifth Amendment, and the various provisions of the Sixth Amendment including, but not limited to, right to counsel, right to confront witnesses, and right to a speedy trial.

Question 5. In many occupations, such as law, medicine, and business, professional courtesies are a way of life. This week's Seminar discusses conduct that may, or may not, lead to ethical dilemmas and scandal. The discussion will also involve the implementation of the "Character Counts" programs in many municipalities.
