Assignment: Annotated Bibliography
The annotated bibliography is meant to help you collect and review sources that you plan on using in your major project. This information can be found in the following places:
- JStor
- The school library (and its databases)
- Google Scholar
- Newspaper and journal articles
- Interviews
- Social media (as appropriate for your own research)
Your bibliography must include annotations for at least four sources. This should be a combination of source types, as the variety will show your understanding of how to find and use all the tools available to you. It also proves you have an idea of what is happening in the conversation around your topic. To complete this assignment correctly, you must have the following items for each source you chose: Need Assignment Help?
Correct and full APA citation; sources must be listed in alphabetical order by the author's last name (if multiple authors are listed, use the first one named)
75-100 word summary of the major argument/finding/point
75-100 word discussion of how it relates to the other articles in your Annotated Bibliography and how you plan to use this source in your larger project
Formatting guidelines:
Do not have a title page; please have your identifying information in the top left-hand corner of only the first page.
Have all citations in alphabetical order, with the summary and explanation paragraphs right under the proper source.
Format all citations with hanging indents-this is a specific selection inside of the "paragraph" settings in Word and Google Docs
All summary and explanation paragraphs must follow proper paragraph indentation. Set the first line to .5" indentation.
Have one empty line after the explanation paragraph before the next citation begins.
Double-space the entire document.
