The format of GIF applies no compression among frames, as if you are combining four 30-kilobyte images in a particular animation, you will end up with a 120 KB GIF file to push by the wire.
The other drawback of graphic interchange format animations is that there are no interface controls for such file format, graphic interchange format animations play whether you want them to not. As well as if looping is enabled, the animations play again and again and then again.
