Now that his first big project as the new logistic’s team lead is drawing to a successful close, Tomas is thinking about next steps for the team and for himself. He has a lot of good ideas for process improvements, and thinks reorganizing his team might align resources better for the next project. He is considering writing a white paper for his boss, Joanne Simpson, where he lays out some potential courses of action, but doesn’t know how that would be received.
What advice would you give Tomas for how best to proceed?
a. Solicit feedback from his clients and ask them to rate their satisfaction with his team’s support.
b. Use the results from the AAR and write a quick white paper to show Joanne that he is a proactive and knowledgeable leader.
c. Plan to lead his team through an exercise where important lessons from the project are captured and collectively discuss some possible courses of action based on those lessons.
d. Send an email to the team soliciting their ideas for improving the organization.
