We all agree in the benefits of the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is reference to patient safety, effective use of information. We are still in the initial learning process considering that the ideal is to be able to have a nationwide interconnected EHR that allows all providers to access patients' complete clinical information any place any time.
There are some experiences around the US using an interconnected EHR (Electronic Health Records) where clinical information from laboratories, ambulatory services, hospitals and any other healthcare organization is ready to be consulted any time.
