Analysis Afghanistan:
You will analyze the last war (either interstate war or civil war) that your country has been involved in using either the international system level of analysis, the state level of analysis, the individual level of analysis, or elements of each in order to explain why it occurred. Don’t spread yourself too thin! I would like a more focused, but thick analysis rather than a scattershot and thin analysis. Make sure to do analysis, not just narrative storytelling! Connect the information about what happened to concepts like balance of power, or power politics, or sovereignty, or legitimacy, or individual beliefs, or others from the course in order to explain some major reasons why the war occurred, or why some part of the war occurred the way it did.
If your country is still in the middle of a war, you may focus on the current war OR the previous one. We should be getting a very interesting picture in comparing each of your countries. Some haven’t had a war in over a century, while others have been in a state of near-constant war for centuries.
