Your textbook does an excellent job of presenting the significance the environment has on influencing human health. Select the one example found in the textbook that you feel is the most important environmental impact on public health today and provide an explanation as to why.

As stated in the test book, one example the author provides about the significance the environment has on human health is that the prevalence and mortality rating of Asthma in the U.S has increased from 58% in 1980 to 78% presently. This number is staggering to think about, but it makes sense. The amount of pollution in the oceans and the amount of trash the average family acquires daily has continued to increase over the years, which ultimately leads to more toxins in the air and water we drink. I believe this example given is the most important one listed in the textbook because Asthma is a common condition that used to not be taken seriously but is now affecting more people and killing them because of asthma attacks and they cannot breathe. I am excited to learn more from the course and hopefully be able to implement new tactics within my own household, or community, to help better the environment.
