Weakness: It's likely that you may find yourself identifying some aspects of your personality that you think will be a weakness for the career in question. But personality, by definition, is very hard to change, so you won't impress your reader if you just say "well, I'll have to do something about this aspect of my personality". If you identify weaknesses for which it's possible to do something, then you need to be specific about what you would do. For example, suppose you discover that you don't have an important skill or area of expertise, then you'll need to describe how you plan to rectify this.
Collecting data about yourself: A big part is understanding yourself. You CANNOT do this properly only by setting down some thoughts that occur to you. For example, just saying that you're a proactive, creative team player, a natural leader with a great work ethic is not going to impress me. I'll want evidence for this: how do you know it's true? Your task is to find out about your strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes.
