Analyze diet for cho-fat-kcals as well as vitamins-minerals

Assignment:

Part 1:

Record all food and beverages consumed over a three day period (don't have to be consecutive days). Include at least one weekend day. Record all portion sizes.

For example, if you have a turkey sandwich for lunch, you should record as follows:

2 slices of whole wheat bread

1 TBLSP low fat mayo

1 ounce swiss cheese

3 ounces turkey breast

1 ounce tomato

12 ounces iced tea

2 teaspoons sugar

Part 2:

Each item that you consume should be broken out into its component parts including CHO, protein and fat grams and kcals using the exchange list. Each day should be totaled and the number of exchanges determined. An average of the CHO, protein fat exchanges and kcals must be included.

Part 3:

Using dietary analysis software, input the data from your three day diary. Analyze your diet for CHO, protein, fat and kcals as well as vitamins and minerals. Provide the summary spreadsheet with your assignment.

Part 4:

Compare the results that you got from the exchange system to the results from the software. Are the numbers similar? If not, why not? Which system do you think is more accurate? Why?
