Analysis Of Qualitative Data:

Although analysis usually takes place after data collection has been completed, in a case study you should start your preliminary analysis and interpretation as the study is still continuing, to enable you to identify patterns which are emerging, and if necessary, amend your approach. Thinking about the analysis should be part of your research design.

In qualitative research, analysis forms the most creative part of the study, because there is no one right way to do it - you should be brainstorming, reflecting, conceptualising, looking for connections in the data, and examining it from different perspectives. You might then sort the data by themes or categories.  You may find it helpful to use quantitative techniques to analyse some of your data, such as measuring the frequency with which a certain key word or topic is mentioned, and if you are dealing with very large amounts of information, computers may be used to speed up the process.
