Complete a Porter’s Five Force Analysis of the game console industry (Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are the big players in the industry). Look at each of the five forces: Threat of New Entrants; Bargaining Power of Suppliers; Bargaining Power of Buyers; Threat of Substitute Products or Services; and the Character of Rivalry in the industry. Identify the strength of each of the forces (low, medium, or high for each one) and explain why. Based on your analysis, does the industry appear to be one that is attractive and profitable? Explain why or why not. What are some of the things that a company in the industry could do to overcome the negative forces? Given your analysis of the forces, what is the best strategy and what actions should a company take to be successful? What are some of the other factors that affect the profitability of the industry?
