Analysis explanation and evaluation of the issue and why it

Assessment: Journals

The purpose of this assignment is to help prepare and equip students with the skills that would be beneficial throughout their industrial and academic careers. Students are expected to submit a bi-weekly journal. Each journal entry must be word-processed and presented on one A4 document and must include a word count. Hand written documents will not be accepted. A journal is marked individually out of 20 and students are expected to submit a 250-word (+/- 10%) typed document discussing issues faced during this module and to explain how the problem/weakness was resolved helping to acquire a new or enhanced transferable skill.

Journals will be marked on a bi-weekly basis and feedback will be provided so that students may become aware and have the opportunity to learn from mistakes and improve their writing style and quality. Tutors will not provide feedback or award marks on work that is submitted late without good reason. In other words you will receive ZERO marks for work that is submitted late. Thus students should try to submit work within the assigned deadline taking into account the feedback comments provided from the previous week's journal in order to increase the potential to earn higher marks.

Students will need to address the following issues in each week's journals:

1. Analysis: Explanation and evaluation of the issue and why it is problematic. In other words...

• What is the problem I am experiencing?
• Why is this problem for me?
• What will I personally gain from resolving this issue?

2. Planning and Implementation: Reflection on transferable skill development and practical application.

• List 3 possible solutions based on academic theories and provide the appropriate reference in accordance to Harvard style referencing.
• Select 1 possible solution that is most suitable for your situation and explain how you intend to put the theory into practice.

3. Justification: Why does the chosen solution provide the best possible outcome?

- Have the relevant management theories been identified, compared and contrasted? In other words, Why does the chosen solution provide the best possible outcome? Why did you not select the other possible solutions?
