An object of mass m = 10 kg is initially at rest in a 1Duniverse at x = 0. The object explodes into two pieces of masses mA = 3 kg and mB = 7 kg. After the explosion both masses slide on a surface that provides friction forces of magnitudes FA = 2.94 N (on mass mA) and FB = 6.86 N (on mass mB). Because of these frictional forces, both masses come to rest after sliding for a while.
