An electron and a neutral carbon atom are initially 44 x

Compute each part of given question:

Question: An electron and a neutral carbon atom are initially 4.4 x 10-6 m apart and there are no other particles in the vicinity. The mass of the electron is m=9.11 x 10-31 kg. The polarizability of a carbon atom as been measured to be 1.96 x 10-40 C•m/(N/C). Assume that k= 9 x 109 N•m2/C2.

Part A: Calculate the initial magnitude of the acceleration of the electron. Answer in m/s2.

Part B: If the electron and the carbon atom were initially twice as far apart, what would the initial acceleration be? Answer in m/s2.
