An 8-inch water main with a flow rate of 14 ft3sec raises

1.An 8-inch water main with a flow rate of 14 ft3/sec raises 100-feet. At the beginning of the main the pressure is 110 psig and drops to 50-psig at the end. For this water main calculate the head loss.

2.The flow of water over a weir, can be computed by Q=5.35LH^(3/2), where Q is the volume low rate of water in cubic feet per second, L is the length of weir in feet, and H is the height of water over the weir in feet. Convert the formula so that Q is in gallons per minute and L and H are measured in inches.
