The Obama administration's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recovery_Act (is an Act which proceeded the Bush administration's Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 and the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 which created the Troubled Assets Relief Program). The approximate cost of the Recovery Act was estimated to be $787 billion at the time of passage. The expenditure has now been revised to $831 billion between 2009 and 2019.
The Acts budget covers a variety of issues for stimulating the economy but also supports issues that would normally be defined as social policy. The Act covers issues such as education, energy/environment, family, health, housing, infrastructure, job training/unemployment, federal tax incentives, public safety, R&D/ science, transportation, and other programs.
