Almost all African countries had adopted some form of development/growth strategies since independence. Although we have discussed the general direction of the development path adopted, each country designed strategies that fit their specific country settings. The strategies may be in the form of Import Substitution Industrialization (ISI), Capitalism (Washington consensus) type system, and/or State Capitalism.
