after the texas revolution polk decided to invade

After the Texas Revolution, Polk decided to invade Central Mexico. Was the reason for triggering war, yet again, due to the disagreement between the two countries as to what the border between Texas and Mexico was?

Also what are 3 reasons why Gen. Scott successfully led his small army from Vera Cruz to Mexico City against much larger Mexican armies led by Santa Anna? I think on of the reasons is because he attacked each time by encircling and/or bypassing (on a different route) the target instead of going directly to them...

And, what were the provisions agreed on by the U.S. and Mexico in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and do those provisions indicate that the U.S. Mexican war was a victory for the U.S.?
