Problem
Zayna is 17 years old and lives with her parents in Kuala Lumpur. She has ambitions to become a model and had done some part-time modelling since the age of 15. She saw an advertisement for a modelling assignment with Glamour Boutique and decided to attend the interview. She booked an appointment with a beauty salon to do her hair and make-up which costs RM200 and paid a deposit of RM50. Zayna was successful in securing the modelling assignment with Glamour Boutique and was promised a pay of RM1,000. She received RM300 as advance payment and will receive the balance after the modelling assignment is completed. Zayna has not fully paid the beauty salon who is now threatening to sue her for the unpaid balance. Zayna has also not received the balance of RM700 from Glamour Boutique despite completing the modelling assignment. With reference to the Contracts Act 1950 and relevant cases, advise Zayna on her course of action against Glamour Studio and the beauty salon.
