Problem
The post Covid-19 pandemic is still stressful on business environment, and, Miss Helwa, CEO of Justice Sdn Bhd ('company') could not maintain her "Be Brave" beverage business for the next 6 months. Her accountant Mr Tahir confirms this as well. With a view to protect the sustainability of her company, she had a board of directors meeting and the decision was to continue with business as usual. However, the company had to lay off 2 staff, namely Mr Black (recipient of the best staff excellent performance award for 2020), and Mr White recipient of 2022 best ethical staff award. Both are very disappointed. In fact, they are considering civil action against the company for unfair dismissal. Advise them on their rights as employees and available remedy under the law.
