In groups of 4 and using PowerPoint, assess the impact of the United Kingdom's membership of the European Union on its businesses. A copy of the presentation assessment criteria is on page 4 of this document. Each person in the group MUST present for five minutes and a copy of the slides should be given to the assessor prior to the presentation. Although it is a group presentation, each student will receive an individual mark. Presentations will be assessed in accordance with the assessment criteria on page 4.
(i) Advise a couple setting up a retail business what advantages and disadvantages they may encounter with an unincorporated business structure and explain the consequences of incorporating their business.
(ii) The Equality Act 2010 (EA 2010) imposes responsibilities on employers in respect of their employees and their employment contracts. Assess the potential consequences for managers and directors where the provisions of EA 2010 are ignored.
