Advantages of Casting Process:
Electric Furnace : The melting of steel by electric furnaces developed rapidly for the availability of cheap electric power. Electricity is used solely for the production of heaf and does not impart any special properties to the steel.
Casting : Casting means the pouring of molten metal into a mould, where solidification occurs.
Advantages of Casting Process
(i) It is the cheapest method of fabrication.
(ii) Objects of large sizes can be produced easily.
(iii) The object having complex and complicated shapes can usually be cast.
(iv)Almost all the metal alloys and some plastics can be cast.
(v) Casting with wide range of properties can be produced by adding various alloying elements.
