Advantages of bonded post-tensioning systems
Some advantages of bonded post-tensioning systems over unbonded post-tensioning ones are the following :
(a) Large reduction in traditional reinforcement requirements as tendons cannot destress in accidents.
(b) Tendons can be easily 'weaved' allowing a more efficient design approach.
(c) Higher ultimate strength due to bond generated between the strand and concrete.
(d) No long term issues with maintaining the integrity of the anchorldead end.
