Assignment task:
Create a visual (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, or Prezi) presentation that addresses the concept of "Economic Systems" and investigate how it affects your community. This visual presentation should consist of approximately 5 slides, but no more than 10. Each slide (including the first and last one) should consist of a figure (photo, map, drawing, chart, etc.) next to a list of some 2-3 terms listed as bullets on the canvas. These terms should then be explained and well written in detail in the Notes section of each slide, supported with data you collected through direct observations and/or other sources such as your text, the Internet or other published material. If you borrow information, make sure you cite the source(s) and then list them as a reference at the end of the discussion.
Research
1. Select one of the two economic systems below of your local economy and its related components that your believe are important to your community, which can included but it is not limited to the following:
Agriculture: "farm workers," "undocumented workers," "packing industry" and "shipping."
Markets: "malls," "mini-malls," "ethnic products", and "informal economies."
2. Investigate by either observing first-hand, using your textbook, or employing the Internet and other sources to collect information. Consider he following questions as you conduct your research:
- How does the economic aspect affecting your community?
- How does the economic aspect affect your life at the local level?
- What are the larger implications at the national and global level?
- How has this adversely impacted your community?
- Can you think of any other pending questions?
