Assignment task: Address violent gun crime that occurs in Chicago only. Do not add in mass murders or school shootings. The City of Chicago has enacted a number of gun control procedures that have not worked to date. Review the data as provided in the textbook. Try to figure out what you believe is the main problem in urban violence. After you have made your hypothesis find two strategies in the textbook that you think will not work out in the near future. Explain why they will not work based on your analysis of the main problem or you may decide those plans will not have an immediate impact. Do you feel based on the text that they are moving in the right direction? In the last section (critical analysis) write what you believe would work in the City of Chicago immediately based on what you proposed was the main problem.
