Address legal issue with employer-sponsored health insurance

Problem: And now... for this module: find and discuss a recent article that addresses a potential legal or regulatory issue with employer-sponsored health insurance.

For example, I found an article in which the authors suggest that courts and legislatures are "disinclined to expand the common definition of family to include emerging, and even well-established, nontraditional families," despite a growing share of our population in such relationships. Given the cost of providing health insurance benefits, I am doubtful that employers will voluntarily extend benefits to non-traditional family members without some economic incentive (i.e., it will help them retain good employees) or new regulation.
