Clinical trials the field in which the object is easy to show that the new treatment is  as good as the existing treatment. Such type of studies is becoming quite widespread due to the present therapies which re?ect prior successes in the development of the new treatments and cures. The studies rely on the implicit historical control supposition, since to conclude that a new drug is ef?cacious or not on the basis of this type of study needes a fundamental assumption that active control drug would have performed much better than the placebo, had a placebo been made in use while the trial.
