Accurate experimental value for the acceleration

The error involved in using a stopwatch to measure time of free fall for distance of a couple of meters is obviously quite large because the time of fall is on par with human reaction time. What is one simple way to get around this and get a reasonably accurate experimental value for the acceleration due to gravity?
