According to the text, this is defined as a designated place, a room where healthcare professionals meet to brainstorm ways to improve the quality of patient care. As CEO, I would use a conference room as the war room, and would have weekly or bi-weekly meetings with top members of administration and leaders of medical staff. Most CEOs have weekly budget and hospital operations meetings, the same individuals that attend these meetings should also participate in brainstorming ideas for the betterment of the hospital. Although meetings are called for different reasons, like budget, finance, safety, etc. Each one of these meetings should turn into a brainstorming meeting, because all of these areas need improvement or updates on a daily basis. Each meeting should be an opportunity for upper management, administration, executives, and medical staff to share concerns and ideas to for improvement.

This is an interesting post on war rooms and the role of meetings. In this post you mention the importance of strategic planning for a healthcare organization. How often should a CEO develop a new strategic plan?
