According to Kotler (2014), marketing is an important factor to consider when one intends to capture the attention of various customers within a specified market segment. This means that various organizations market their products and services with the aim of ensuring that the targeted customers purchase them. To add on that, Lantos (2015), highlights that marketing is also a way of helping customers figure out if the products and services being marketed fit their various needs. This means that it helps the targeted customers determine if the products and services being advertised match their demands.

From the two illustrations mentioned above it, it has been pointed out that marketing depends on the goals of the company that intends to market its product or services. For instance, if the company figures out that there is a specific demand that customers have, which its rival companies cannot satisfy, then it means that the company can come up with the product or service that the market demands. The company will then advertise with the aim of informing the targeted market that it offers the products or services that correspond with their needs and wants.
