Ethical Issue
ABC, Inc. is looking at two candidates for the job of a senior manager to expand into a new market. An internal candidate, Mary, has been with ABC, Inc. for 10 years and has received very good employee performance evaluations. The other candidate, Roger, works for a small competitor for the last 3 years, and has some good experience in the particular market where ABC, Inc. is looking to expand. Do you think ABC, Inc. has an obligation to promote Mary? Should it give Mary a bit of an edge? Why or why not?
