A wire of 100 meter length and a square 10 mm x 10 mm cross

A wire of 10.0 meter length and a square (1.0 mm x 1.0 mm) cross section is made of a material with a resistivity of 5.0 x 10-8 W•m.

(a) Determine what is its resistance?

(b) If a potential difference of 1.00 Volt is maintained between the ends of the wire, find at what rate is heat generated in the wire (i.e. power consumption)?

(c) Three of these wires (identical) are located side-by-side (in parallel). Determine what is the new power consumed
assuming the same power supply is attached?

(d) Five of the wires are now attached end-to-end (series). Determine what is the new power consumed?
