(a) What are Agent-based models? What are turtles and patches? How are turtles programmed in netlogo? If you have a background in computer programming or if you are brave, play around with the turtles in the downloaded version of netlogo and see if you can create your own version of an agent-based model.
(b) How do Agent-based models differ from "Mental" models, Boolean models and Differentialequation-based models? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these types of models? Can you conceive of a biological system of interest in Systems Biology where one may be able to benefit from an Agent-based modeling framework?
