A telephoto camera lens system needs to be able to form

A telephoto camera lens system needs to be able to form reasonably sized images of distant objects. One simple design for such a system uses a long focal length converging lens followed by a diverging lens.

(a) To see how such a system works, begin with a converging lens of focal length f= 120 mm. Find the image distance for a tree that is 15m high and 1.0 km away.

(b) Assumingthat the camera's image sensor(CCD) is placed at the location of the real image of the tree, how high is this image?

(c) To increse the image size, imagine putting a diverging lens( focal length- 2.0 cm) between the converging lens and its image, at a distance 10.3cm from the converging lens. Determine the final image location. Include a well-labelled sketch of the setup( remember that the image must be real in order to be detected by the camera's CCD)

(d) Find the height of the final image formed by the two lenses. Is it upright or inverted?
