Should NOT be a summary of the text, but rather a question, a provocation, or a comparison that you find particularly relevant either to class discussion, or to the historical, social, cultural, political and/or philosophical issues at stake in the fabric of every day life. The best journals will stand out by demonstrating reflective thought, a struggle with an idea or a question, or a comparison between multiple ideas either from class or the course readings.
