A steady-state well-insulated turbine operates in two

1.A steady-state, well-insulated turbine operates in two stages in series using steam. the first stage has an efficiency of 85% and the second stage 90%. Steam enters the first stage at 400 C and 4 MPa and exits at 1.5 MPa. The steam then enters the second stage and exits at 100 kPa. Show the process in a T-S diagram. Also determine the work developed by each stage.

2.Nozzle

A steam is supplied to the nozzle at 0.8 MPa, 400oC and a velocity of 8 m/s. A steam then leaves at 0.2 MPa, 300oC and losing heat at the rate of 20 kW. For the nozzle that has an inlet diameter of 32 cm, determine:

(i) The exit velocity of the steam.

(ii) The volume flow rate of the steam at the nozzle exit.
