A small gas station has only one pump to serve its customers. The gas station is located in the City center and has a parking space for 6 cars only. Each arriving car is served on the average in 8 minutes where the service time has been found to follow the exponential distribution. The cars arrive according to a Poisson distribution at an average rate of 5 cars per hour. Cars that cannot find a parking space inside the station they go somewhere else as the City does not allow any stationary cars on the street outside the gas station. 1) Analyze the system and produce the main Performance Measures. 2) What is the probability that an arriving car will not find a parking space? 3) what is the effective arrival rate?
