Question - The primary motivation for laws against gambling is to protect the public. More specifically, because gambling can be addictive or ruin people's financial well-being, the state attempts to protect individuals against doing harm to themselves. A related motivation is keeping harmed individuals from later becoming dependent upon state support. Do you agree or disagree? What are you thoughts with regard to Connecticut allowing gambling?
